October has only just begun, but the energy at Student Life Organization is already soaring! From high-level discussions at the Cebu Provincial Capitol to an energetic early-morning fun run, our team has been hard at work building partnerships and making a tangible difference in our community.

Here is a look at how we kicked off the month!

Shaping the Future of Inclusive Education at the Cebu Provincial Capitol

On October 1, our leadership team had the privilege of meeting with Mr. Christopher Baricuatro, Cebu Provincial School Board Member and Executive Assistant to the Governor, at the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

During our meeting, we had the opportunity to present Student Life’s core vision and mission, focusing on how we can better advocate for and empower students with special needs. We engaged in an inspiring, open discussion about sustainable educational projects that address the unique challenges these learners face every day.

“Creating an inclusive environment isn’t just a goal—it’s a responsibility. Partnering with leaders who share this vision brings us one step closer to ensuring no student is left behind.”

This dialogue opened exciting doors for future collaboration with DepEd Provincial SPED. By aligning our initiatives with local government educational goals, we are laying the groundwork to create a lasting, meaningful impact for students with disabilities across the entire province of Cebu. We are deeply honored by this opportunity and look forward to what we will accomplish together.

Adding Color and Creativity to the Gaisano Capital Fun Run

Bright and early on the morning of October 3, the community gathered for the annual Gaisano Capital Fun Run—and what an incredible event it was!

We are immensely grateful to the team at Gaisano Capital for choosing Student Life Organization Inc. as the official beneficiary of this year’s run. Their support plays a crucial role in enabling our programs and outreach efforts.

To show our appreciation and add to the festive spirit, our volunteer artists set up a dedicated face-painting booth at the venue. Runners of all ages stopped by to get painted before heading to the starting line, turning an already energetic morning into a colorful celebration of health, community, and art.

Looking Ahead: Building Momentum Together

The first few days of October have proven that when community leaders, local businesses, and passionate volunteers come together, real change happens.
